Joseph C. Rehkamp moved to Marshall in 1930 to work for the Middleton Funeral Home. In 1938, he purchased the A.L. Soucy Funeral Home and renamed it Rehkamp Funeral Home. Since 1946, our Marshall funeral home has been located at 411 West Lyon Street. Paul and Jack Rehkamp purchased the Nordquist and Bourgeois Funeral Home in Minneota in 1971. In 1992, Quinn Horvath joined the staff and in 2004 the firm was renamed Rehkamp & Horvath Funeral Directors.

Today, we have gathered together a staff of highly-qualified and caring individuals that specialize in traditional funeral services and cremation, prearrangement, and after-care support. In 2012, land across the street of our current location was secured for future development. The new Horvath Remembrance Center was constructed in the Spring and Summer of 2020, opening in October 2020.

The original Rehkamp Funeral Home located on West Lyon from 1938 to the mid 1940's.

In the mid 1940's Joseph Rehkamp purchased what used to be an old Lutheran Church and re-modeled the building when materials became available after World War II. Eventually, a chapel was added onto the funeral home on North 5th Street and in 1987, the current entry was added to include handicap accessible restrooms and an elevator.

Since our founding, the guiding principle of our funeral home has been the commitment to treating each family who comes to us as our own. With sincerity, pride, and dedication, we are committed to this time-honored tradition.

Whether you have an immediate need for our services or you wish to begin pre-planning a funeral arrangement for you or someone you love, call us. We will be proud to serve you.
