Virgil Buysse

d. March 13, 2021

A celebration of the life of Virgil Buysse, 71, of Taunton, will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the American Legion Club in Minneota. Virgil was born on November 28, 1949, in Marshall, Minnesota, to Wilfred and Lucy (Bulcke) Buysse. He grew up in Eidsvold Township in the Minneota area and attended St. Edward Catholic School. Virgil graduated from Minneota Public Schools in 1967. Following graduation, Virgil enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed a tour and a half in Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam, he married Denise Doom on August 20, 1973. To this union were born four children: William (stillborn), Eric, Brent and Andy. Virgil’s occupations were farming and driving his truck. He retired in 2016. Virgil enjoyed working on the farm, raising chickens for eggs, cows and calves, sheep, riding his golf cart and tinkering in the shop with his grandkids. Virgil passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home, outdoors doing what he loved. He was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Denise, sons Eric (Jenny), Brent (Lori), and Andy (Beth); grandkids Jack, Emily and Jodi Buysse; Morgen and Alex Wersal; William and Adelyn Buysse; Beau Doom; August and Henry Buysse and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant son William, parents Wilfred and Lucy; sister Bernadette and father-in-law Dennis Doom.
