Vincent Joseph Boerboom was born November 1, 1923 to Jacob and Louis (De Wisperler) Boerboom. He was received into the arms of Our Lord on May 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. Vinnie was baptized, made his First Communion and was confirmed in St Eloi Church. He grew up on a farm near Ghent. He went to school in the county district 31 school for 2 years and completed grade school in St Eloi Catholic School. In 1939 he attended West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, Minnesota. He and Prudence De Sutter were united in marriage October 2, 1945 at St Eloi Catholic Church. They farmed near Ghent and moved to Marshall in 1980. He retired a few years later. Vinnie loved farming and working with livestock. He and Putts enjoyed traveling in Europe, Alaska, Africa, and throughout the United States and Canada. Vinnie was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, Rolle Bolle, bird watching, gardening and sports. He became a skilled wood carver, weaver and loved playing cards. He enjoyed volunteer work when he could. He was especially proud of and loved his wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vinnie's faith was very precious to him. He and Putts instilled deep faith in their children. Over the later years Vinnie experienced many physical challenges. He accepted them with amazing grace and continued to live life to the fullest.

Vinnie is survived his wife Putts, their children: Sister Cathie, Galen (Linda), Peggy Peck (Don), and Janet Flynn (Timothy), 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and his sister Geraldine Carrow. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Henry, Bill, John, Gus, Harry, Eddie, Gerald and his sister Bertha. In lieu of flowers that donations be made to the St Eloi Elevator Project or Sister Cathie's Rose Haven program for homeless women and children.
