Timothy "Tim" Neil Tweet

The funeral service for Timothy "Tim" Tweet, 66, of Cottonwood, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood.

Timothy Neil Tweet was born on April 20, 1960, the youngest of eight children born to Gertrude and Lester Tweet of Osakis, MN. He lived in Osakis until his first marriage to Ruth Ann Montgomery.

Tim worked as a chef, head chef, caterer, and line cook for 46 years. Tim cooked for many Hollywood Stars in Chandler, Arizona, and in Olathe, Kansas. After his parents passed, Gertie in 1989 and Lester in 1992, Tim moved back home to Osakis.

On August 15, 2000, Tim met the love of his life Betty Hill. After a few short months Betty became disabled, and Tim became her caregiver. They lived in Osakis until 2003, moved to Cottonwood for a short time, then in 2004 they moved to Mesa, Arizona. Tim worked for Maricopa County for Senior Transportation and delivered meals on wheels, and he also transported family visits at the prison. During Hurricane Katrina, he and other senior bus drivers worked 12 hour shifts round the clock to assist with refugee needs. They lived in Mesa for 9 years until 2012, when they moved back to Cottonwood to be closer to their grandchildren. Tim returned to his previous employer as line cook.

Tim had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone out. He oftentimes loaned their car to someone in need, gave rides, money, etc, whatever the need be. Tim and Betty also rescued many dogs over the years. You could see Tim’s passion for cooking in his face and smile. He truly loved life. Tim loved spending time with all the grandkids, and he would even let the girls paint his nails and fix his hair.

Tim died on Monday, September 21, 2026, under the care of hospice at his residence. Tim is survived by his wife Betty, stepsons Jason of Cottonwood, Michael of Arizona, Nicholas (Natasha) of Minneota, and Timothy of Colorado, 15 step grandchildren, 1 step great granddaughter, and siblings Leslyn and Christine.

Tim is preceded in death by mother Gertrude, father Lester, sister Leota, and four brothers Michael (Mike), Richard (Dick), Allen, and Rodger.
