Tom was born to Edward and Lucy (DeSutter) Brewers on November 28, 1941 in Minneota, Minnesota.
He attended Minneota High School and graduated in 1959. He attended college for a few years at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota, before entering the United States Army in 1964. He served in the Army from 1964-66 and was primarily stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
On May 6, 1967 he was united in marriage to Beth Lanoue at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. For over 51 years they made their home in Ghent, Minnesota.
Tom worked for 43 years as a sheet metal fabricator for Bisbee Mechanical in Marshall, MN. He retired in 2009.
After retirement, Tom enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping. He was an avid athlete in high school, especially in baseball. In 2016 he was inducted into the Minneota Viking Hall of Fame. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons, Thomas Brewers of Sioux Falls, SD, Peyton Nuy of Sioux Falls, SD, Preston Nuy of Taunton, MN, and Hayden Brewers of Beresford, SD. He loved to watch his grandsons participate in sports, especially baseball.
Tom died on Wednesday, October 03, 2018, at his home in Ghent, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice.
Tom is survived by his wife Beth; daughter Chris (James) Pesch of Taunton, MN, and son Greg (Lori) Brewers of Beresford, SD; his four grandsons along with step grandchildren, Chrissy Boerboom of Springfield, MN, Mandy (Josh) Sanow of St. Leo, MN, Justin (Amanda) Pesch of Taunton, MN, Ashley (fianceeâ Wes Ahlschlager) of Russell, MN, Nicole (Jessie) Jorgensen of Beresford, SD, Neal Jurrens of Beresford, SD; step great grandchildren, Megan and Brook Boerboom, Cole and Alexis Sanow, Dakota, Carter & Bentley Pesch, KyLee & Emma Jorgensen, brother Vernon (Donna) Brewers of Fridley, MN, sisters-in-law Laurie Brewers of Elkhart, IN and Elaine Brewers of Ghent, MN; sisters Marie (Harold) Solseth of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jane (Leonard) Drietz of Porter, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ben Brewers and John Brewers, and his nieces Diane Drietz and Sherry Miller.
