Theresa Grupe

A Celebration of Life will be held August 12, 2023, at the Wooden Nickel in Marshall, MN from 1pm until 4pm.

A Private Burial took place on August 1, 2023, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with her husband.

Theresa Marie Grupe, age 92, of Marshall, passed away on June 27, 2023, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice at Boulder Creek.

Theresa was born to Alfred Andrew Eichten and Florence Hermaine (Schlumpberger) Eichten on April 6, 1931, in Willow Lake Township Redwood County, MN. She married Robert Richard (Big Bob) Grupe on April 14, 1951, in Wanda, MN. They lived in Springfield, Lynd and Marshall where they owned Big Bob's Service, the Little Dairy Queen and Dairy Queen Brazier. After retirement they moved to Lake Cockran, Gary, SD.  After her husband passed away she moved to Mesa, AZ then to Apache Junction, AZ moved back to Marshall in 2018.

She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Member of the American Legion

Auxiliary 113, Past 7^th District President, Member of the VFW Auxiliary 7968 Apache Junction, AZ past president, and past treasurer.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Florence Eichten, siblings Flavian, Rita, Joseph, Anthony, Frances, Mark Eichten, Marion Schulte, husband Robert (Big Bob) sons Richard and Bernie, two granddaughters Kathryn Marie VanOverbeke, and Allisa Wille.

Survivors include daughters Paula (Dave) VanOverbeke of Ortonville, Mary (Russ) Nelson of Hutchinson, sons Robert (Deb) Grupe of Watertown, SD, Greg (Melissa) Grupe of Milroy, David (Kimbe) Grupe of Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren Travis VanOverbeke, Lena Butterfield, Aron Robison, Crystal Cleveland, Hunter Grupe, Tabitha Grupe, McKenna Grupe. Great-grandchildren Jacinda Stewart, Cody Cleveland, Taylor Mutzel, Avery VanOverbeke, Caylee Cleveland, Matt Butterfield, Kaylee Wille Rushing, Great-great grandchildren Elanora Rose and Ruth Ann King. Brother Al (Marge) Eichten of Mankato, many nieces and nephews.
