The memorial service for Tena Quigley, 92, of Tracy will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the Horvath Remembrance Center (444 Craig Ave) in Tracy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Tracy Community Cemetery. Masks are required at all indoor events. Tena was called home on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Tena E. Visker Quigley was born on August 18, 1928, in White, South Dakota to Eltjo and Katherine (Dilly) Visker. She grew up on a farm near Lake Shetek. Tena graduated from Tracy and was baptized at the Church of Christ in Tracy.
On August 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to George Quigley at the Church of Christ in Tracy. They farmed near Walnut Grove for several years and then moved to a farm near Garvin. In 1978, they moved to Tracy and she worked at the Christian Manor, later Prairieview Senior Living Center in Tracy until her retirement.
Tena was a long time member and Sunday School Teacher at the Church of Christ in Tracy where she also played piano. After her retirement, she enjoyed having coffee with family and friends. She really enjoyed her grandkids and great-grandkids of which she had eleven. She is survived by her children, Mary (and Larry) Halverson of Waseca, Karen (and Neil) Jensen of Rogers, grandchildren Amy (and Brian) Schumacher, Eric (and Michelle) Jensen, Tara (and Dan) Stella and Kurt Halverson (friend Natalie,) great-grandchildren Breanna, Brooke, Harper, Tony, Jack, Austin and Amelia. Also survived by brothers Jans and Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eltjo and Katherine; husband George; sisters Dorothy, Jenny, Grace, Fannie and Marie and brothers Henry and John.
Tena will be dearly missed by many.
