Shirley Ann (Buesgens) VonBank was born on April 3, 1933, in Belle Plaine, MN, to William and Crescencia (Schug) Buesgens. She grew up and graduated from high school in Belle Plaine. On August 3, 1957, she was united in marriage to Cletus VonBank at Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. The couple lived and raised their family in Ft. Dodge, Belmond and Emmetsburg, IA, before moving to Marshall in 1980. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, following the Twins, shopping and decorating. She was a member of the Sweet Adelineâs, a garden club and the funeral serving committee at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Shirley died on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Prairie Home Hospice Lockwood House in Marshall, MN.
She is survived by her husband, Clete, of Marshall, daughters Kim (and Bob) Wilson of New Richmond, WI, Angie (and Jim) Vaughan of Mallard, IA, Liz (and Wayne) DeBlieck of Granite Falls, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-grandchild expected in May, sister Elaine Hennen, brothers William and Merlyn Buesgens, sisters-in-law Margie Kochlin, Sister Sue VonBank, Sandy Buesgens and Myrtle Buesgens, brother-in-law Jack VonBank, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care of Marshall.
