Shirley Ann Severson

Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley Severson, 85, of Marshall, will be Monday, June 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour before the service, and the Catholic Daughters will lead the rosary prior to the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Shirley Ann (Savoie) Severson was born on April 16, 1938, in Marshall, to Edward and Eleanor (Kack) Savoie. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Marshall. Shirley was united in marriage to Warren Severson at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for a few different businesses such as Schwan’s, ShopKo, and the nursing home. She enjoyed collecting antiques and even had her own antique store for a time. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being outside and visiting casinos. She was involved in the community, including as a Catholic Daughter and as part of a local coffee group.

Shirley died on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her son Doug Severson, his daughter Nicole; daughter Dana (Patrick) Wolf, their children John, Patrick, Jordan, and Julia; sisters Anne (Phil) Roth and Judy (Kerry) Running; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren, son Donald, brothers Charles and Gordon Savoie, and a brother in infancy.
