Mass of Christian Burial for Sherlee Gregg, 94, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Sherlee Ann (Bump) Gregg was born on November 25, 1929, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the first of 13 children born to Ivan and Mary (Jandl) Bump. The family moved a few times when Sherlee was young and they settled on a farm near Amiret. On November 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clinton “Clint” Gregg. The couple made their home in Marshall. In addition to raising her sons, Sherlee worked at a few jobs including Avon sales, JC Penney’s, and Lloyd’s Fairway where she worked as a meat wrapper for many years.
Sherlee was a ham radio operator for many years, her call sign was WDØBZU. She enjoyed this hobby and also served as President of the Marshall Amateur Radio Club. She was also an avid reader. Sherlee will be remembered for her thoughtful birthday cards. She had a large list of recipients and would send out dozens per month.
Sherlee died on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her sons Joe (and Linda) Gregg of Horace, ND and John (and Anastasia) Gregg of Hudson, WI: grandchildren Peter (Rhianda), William, Kurt (Rachel), Paul, Katie, Sarah (Lenny), Jeremiah and Svetlana: six great-grandchildren: siblings Lois Gernes, Louse (Art) Olson, Mike (Vicki) Bump, Tom (Jean) Bump, Barbara (Steve) Slaggie, Susan (Larry) Tubbs, in-laws Delores Bump, Sally Bump and Margaret Bump and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clint, siblings Lyle (Mary) Bump, Kenny “Bud” Bump, Dennis Bump, Elaine “Tootie” (Leo) Schultz, Carol (Nicholas) Cieminski and Mel Bump.
