Ronn was born on July 16, 1950 in California to Dale and Carol Morgan. In the 6th grade, he and his siblings moved to Tracy, MN to live with their loving grandparents Helen and Ted Lien. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1969.

In January 1970, Ronn was drafted into the United States Army, where he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. As an Army Specialist, he completed one tour in Indochina as a Field Radio Equipment Repairer. He returned home in January 1971 and continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves until his contract of service concluded.

Following his military service, Ronn worked as a fiber optics technician and was known for his incredible knack for repairs – especially when it came to televisions, radios, and most of all, guitars! His skilled hands kept many instruments alive and singing until the end of his life.

Music was one of Ronn’s greatest passions. An avid guitar player, he performed in several local bands including the Blackides and Roxelder’s and Gracie’s Kids. He frequently played alongside friends at the Tracy United Methodist Church, where his music touched the hearts of many.

In his later years, Ronn found joy in crossword puzzles, computer games, quiet fishing trips, and the companionship of his cherished cats.

On October 13, 2007, Ronn married the love of his life, Donna Greenfield, at the Tracy United Methodist Church. Through their union, he welcomed a stepson, Robert. Ronn and Donna made their home in Tracy, where they built a life full of love and devotion.

Ronn Lane Morgan, a devoted husband, beloved father & brother, proud veteran and lifelong lover of music, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 74.
