He graduated in 1965 from Russell High School. On November 22, 1974, he was united in marriage to Karen Willert in Lake Benton. Bob lived and worked in the Marshall area. He took great pleasure in promoting and directing many practical jokes and playful times with family and friends. His friends nicknamed him “Honest Bob” for various reasons, and he very proudly sported a cap with the insignia “Honest Bob, Hunting and Fishing Guide.” His special hobbies included the many hunting adventures of the Coyote Coalition, fishing, watching NASCAR races, building martin and wren birdhouses, keeping well-groomed yards and maintaining a large garden and pumpkin patch. The past several years, Bob lived on the family farm with special friend, Carol Janiszeski, and was employed at Marshall Truss Co. Bob died on Friday, February 15, 2008, at the Pipestone County Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob’s family and friends were most important to him. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn, of Marshall, friend Carol, sister Coleen Frye of Marshall, sister Janel Schultz of Winona, Karen Schultz of Owatonna, nieces Britta Fiksdal and Flora Funke, nephews Emray (Erin) and Arnold (Nora) Frye and stepchildren Corey (Cheryl) Willert, Tami (Bob) Krogman, Sherri (Jeff) Pesta and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Schultz, and brother-in-law, Stan Frye.
