Robert Loren Rykhus

Services for Robert L. Rykhus, age 90, of Garvin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the Life Remembrance Center of Tracy, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. His grandchildren will be the urn bearers. Burial will be at Hoiland Cemetery at a later date. Robert Loren Rykhus was born May 10, 1928, in Holly Township to Albert and Pauline (Ziemke) Rykhus. He was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tracy. He married Deallis Kenly at Hoiland Lutheran Church on September 5, 1948. They farmed his whole life in Lake Sarah Township on their family farms. He also drove a truck for Anderson Trucking for several years. He served on the rural ambulance board and was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church. He enjoyed coffee time with the guys, loved playing cards, deer hunting, car rides and driving his golf cart around on the farm. He enjoyed visits from friends and family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids. Robert passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy. Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Deallis; daughter Alaine (Fred) Risbrudt of Battle Lake; sons Robert (Heather) Rykhus of Edina, Bruce Rykhus of Tracy, and Loren Rykhus of Garvin; grandchildren Tiana (Jason) Matthews, Kate Rykhus, Amy Vargas, Phillip (Dara) Risbrudt, and Ben (Meredith) Rykhus; great-grandchildren Kale and Rowen Risbrudt and Sutton Rykhus; brother Dale (Lorraine) Rykhus; sister Lorraine Froehlich and nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, sister Darlene Thiel and brothers-in-law Carl Thiel and Herb Froehlich. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Hoiland Cemetery or Murray County Hospice.
