Robert “Bob” Ernest Kvick was born on May 29, 1929, in Wheaton, MN, to Sture and Florence (Hormann) Kvick. Bob grew up on the family farm and helped on the farm after leaving school. He served in the United States Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953, stationed in Alabama and Kentucky. On October 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Fridgen in Alabama. After Bob left the service, the couple owned a filling station in Dumont, MN. Later, Bob worked as a trucker for Jacobson Transport, which brought the family to Marshall in 1960. Bob delivered gasoline for Jacobson Transport and later Viessman Trucking before retiring at the age of 65. After retiring from trucking, he worked part time at Doug’s Auto Parts before officially retiring at the age of 80. In his free time, Bob could be found having coffee at McDonald’s or playing cards. Bob loved fishing with the grandkids, and he took fishing trips to South Dakota and Canada with family and friends. For 46 years Bob brought his family to a lake resort for a week filled with fishing and making memories. Bob died on Thursday, March 18, 2021, in Marshall. He is survived by his wife Jeanne of Marshall; daughters Lori Corder of St. Louis Park and Shari (Brian) Carlson of Owatonna; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jim, brothers Harlon and Orrie, and sisters Shirley and Vera. Memorials preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.
