Paul Owen Drown

d. April 22, 2021

A celebration of life for Paul Drown, 66, of Milroy, will be held at a later date. Paul Owen Drown was born on March 7, 1955, in Marshall, to Joseph and Kathleen (Curwick) Drown. Paul graduated from Minneota High School in 1973. He joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and served for 12 years. His last few years were served on the esteemed Air Force Red Horse team. Paul worked several jobs throughout his life, starting as a teenager working at Finnegan’s Grocery in Minneota, and he worked part-time at several places while he was in the service. His major career path was as an auto mechanic. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he returned home and spent 23 years working with his uncle, Larry Curwick, at Curwick’s Garage in Marshall. Paul then worked for SMI in Porter and Regnier’s Heating, Cooling, and Refrigeration in Marshall. Paul enjoyed riding motorcycle, collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia, reading Western novels, shooting guns, and spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of A.B.A.T.E. and the NRA. Everyone who knew Paul knew he was very proud of the Panhead and Shovelhead Harley Davidson motorcycles he spent most of his adult life rebuilding. Paul died unexpectedly at his home in Milroy on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He is survived by his mother Kathleen (Kay) Drown of Minneota, brother Matthew (Deb Spence) Drown of Winnebago, sister Cecelia Pohlen of Minneota, brother Joseph (Judy) Drown Jr. of Porter, and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Drown, brother Michael Drown, brother-in-law Mike Pohlen, and niece Jennifer Pohlen.
