A celebration of the life of Olaf “Ole” Rasmussen, 74, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the remembrance center.
Olaf “Ole” Raymond Rasmussen was born on July 10, 1950, in Tyler, to Theodore and Mary (Helvig) Rasmussen. He grew up in the Tyler area and began working at a young age. His first job was at a mink farm, then he worked as a truck driver for 44 years until his retirement. Olaf was married to Debbie Rasley, and the couple had a daughter, Tami; they later divorced. In 1980, Olaf married Sue Broten, and the couple had two children, Teresa and Raymond; they later divorced.
In his free time, Olaf enjoyed fishing, going to races, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. He had a quote for everyone who walked in the door, and he was always up for arguing about politics. Olaf went to coffee shops every morning, and he particularly enjoyed going to McDonald’s for coffee and a McMuffin. He loved his family, especially his best friend and granddaughter, Tessaray.
Olaf died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his children Tami Wepsala and Raymond Rasmussen; grandchildren Tessaray Rasmussen, Marissa Rasmussen, Dusty Labarre, Tia Oquist, Elvise Wepsala, and Noel Wepsala; great-grandchild Braydenray; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa, and his siblings.
