Norman Louis Kruse was born on November 9, 1925, in Springfield, MN, to Christ and Emma (Schwantes) Kruse. He grew up near Wabasso and was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at the Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Norm was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in Japan following World War II. On May 27, 1949, he was united in marriage to LaVonne Kolp at the Church of Christ in Redwood Falls. Norm worked as a Barber for over 50 years. He started his career in Milroy, then moved to Minneota in 1967. He enjoyed his work, especially his camaraderie with his friends and customers. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially golf, baseball and horse shoes. In 2015, Norm and LaVonne moved to Sioux Falls due to Lavonneâs health issues.
Norman died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his children Wayne (and Darlene) Kruse, Wanda (and Pat) Spain, and Wesley (and Lana) Kruse, grandchildren Kristy (and Eric) Ortega, Karyn (and Jason) Bauer, Tracy (and Chad) Dahle, Tammy Gossen, Tim (and Haley) Gossen, Stacy Stroller, Rick (and Sherry) Kruse and Nick Kruse; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Lou Kruse and brother Arnie Kruse, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife LaVonne, brother Donald (and Phyllis,) infant brother Gordon and sister-in-law Audrey.
