Mildred "Millie" Mary Nagel

Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred “Millie” Nagel, 83, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall.  Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with a CCW Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Millie was born on December 11, 1940, to Henry and Marie (Maiwald) Heitkamp in Adrian, MN.  She graduated from St. Adrian Catholic School in 1958.  On July 14, 1962, she was united in marriage to Bob Nagel.  The couple began their married life in southern Illinois and later moved to Wisconsin and then back to Minnesota.  

Millie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, fishing, lottery tickets and going to the casino.  She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren when they were visiting.  

Millie died on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.  She is survived by her children Donna (Dennis) Roberts of Clara City, MN; Scott Nagel of Center Point, IA; and Sandy (Paul) Fischer of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren Natalie (Jason) Hanson, Michelle Roberts (special friend Neil), Joe Roberts, Matt (Olivia) Fischer, Nicole (Joe) Sannerud; great-grandchildren Layla and Gamble Garner and future great-grandchildren; sister Marlene (Dave) Kurth; sister-in-law Biana Boe and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, infant brother James, sisters-in-law Doris, Beatrice, Emma and brothers-in-law George, Clayton and Russell and parents-in-law Edward and Florence Nagel.
