Matthew "Matt" Allen Bellecourt

The funeral service for Matthew “Matt” Bellecourt, 41, of Marshall, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Following the graveside service, a funeral luncheon will be held at the remembrance center.

Matthew “Matt” Allen Bellecourt was born on November 9, 1983 to Allen and Karen (St. Aubin) Bellecourt in Marshall. He graduated from Marshall High School on June 1, 2003.

Matt was a helpful, kind and caring person. He always had a positive outlook on life no matter the circumstance. He had an awesome smirk and it was so fun to see it every day. He loved mowing the lawn with the riding mower that he bought himself. He also enjoyed using his leaf blower which he also purchased himself. Matt loved listening to country music and the oldies, watching the Minnesota Vikings, being outside, lifting weights and walking the track at the YMCA. He liked participating in Special Olympics weightlifting and bowling. Matt loved spending time with his dad and loved his mother with his whole heart, he called her every day at 4:00. Family was very important to Matt.

Matt’s passion was traveling. Places that Matt traveled to were Hawaii, Washington D.C., Disneyland twice, Las Vegas twice, New Hampshire, Florida, New York, Nashville, Houston, Memphis, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. Matt was set to go to San Francisco in July and it was his dream to go to Boston. Matt thoroughly enjoyed eagles. He liked eagles so much that he got a tattoo of an eagle on his arm.

Matt lived with three housemates in Marshall and received services through Habilitative Services, Inc. Matt was employed through Advance Opportunities and worked at Turkey Valley and most recently at Lyon County Landfill. He was a very hard worker.

Matt died unexpectedly at his residence in Marshall on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Matt is survived by his mother Karen Bellecourt; father Allen Bellecourt; sisters Amy Bellecourt and Emily Bellecourt; brothers Brian Bellecourt (Amanda Caldwell), Brandon Victor, and Joseph Bellecourt; nephew Trevor Victor; nieces Ally Victor, Nevaeh Bellcourt, and Aubrianna Romandia; and many, many friends from HSI and Advance Opportunities.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry and Darlene Bellecourt and Louis and Maxine St. Aubin, and special uncle Walter St. Aubin.
