Mary "Max" Maxine MartinMary Maxine Martin (Weber), age 90, formerly of Green Valley, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Dubuque, IA to Max and Bernice Weber (Kurz). She worked for the telephone company in Rockford, IL until she met her future husband, Jerome (Jack) Martin, whom she married on August 30, 1947. Together, they began raising a family and eventually moved to the Marshall area, first residing on Southview Dr. in Marshall and then later moving to Green Valley. Maxine was a strong, caring, and generous woman, who always put the needs of others above her own. She had a strong Catholic faith, a genuine desire to help others, and the ability to make others feel comfortable. Despite tragedies in her life, including the loss of her son in a car accident, Maxine remained optimistic, faithful, and joyful about life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching the Twins and the Vikings, and reading books. Mary Maxine died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and son Brian. She is survived by her children, Bob (Julie) of New Prague, MN; Pat (Ron) Gabel of Parker, CO; Mike (Francine) of Grand Marais, MN; Joan (John) McQueeney of Ithaca, NY; Joe (Twyla) of Broken Arrow, OK; Steve (Julia) of Big Lake, MN; Pete (Kim) of Rose, OK; Karen Ramsey of Littleton, CO; Kathy (Larry) of Broken Arrow, OK; Phil (Kathy) of Pequot Lakes, MN; Jerry (Connie) of St. Michael, MN; 32 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. So sorry to hear of Maxines passing. She was a special friend of our mom's, Sylvia Gee. Maxine always had encouraging words and thoughts. A wonderful, caring person.

Maxine was like my 2nd Mom. She was one of the sweetest, most caring people I've ever met. I'm so blessed to have had her in my life. My sincere condolences to the entire Martin family. She will be missed.

To all of Max's family, We were saddened to hear of Max's passing. We always enjoyed visiting with Max; a sweet classy lady. All of you are such a wonderful family; lean on each other for comfort, and keep all those good memories going. Sending much love and peace too all of you.
