Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret “Peggy” Cline, 93, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at the church.  Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Margaret “Peggy” Ford Cline was born on August 8, 1930, in Casselton, ND, to Dennis and Emilie (Benesh) Ford.  She grew up in Casselton and graduated from Casselton High School.  Peggy obtained her Pharmacy Degree at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo.  After college, Peggy worked as a Pharmacist at several pharmacies in the Minot and Fargo areas. During this time, she met S.F. “Red” Cline as he was working at a wholesale drug company; Red would also go on to obtain his Pharmacy Degree from NDSU.  The couple was united in marriage on September 2, 1961 in Fargo.  In 1963, they opened “Cline Pharmacy” in Marshall.  They sold the business in 1986, however Peggy continued to work as a pharmacist in the area until she retired in 2005. By Peggy’s count, she determined that she worked at 60 different pharmacies in her career, often in a relief capacity helping fellow pharmacists to take time off. She was very proud of her 50+ year career in pharmacy.

Peggy was passionate about people.  She understood the importance of getting to know her customers and she greatly enjoyed their interactions.  She was also passionate about education.  She and Red were supportive of Marshall Public Schools, Southwest State University, and North Dakota State University. She was proud to initiate the S.F. “Red” Cline Memorial Scholarship with the Pride in the Tiger Foundation after Red’s death in 1988 and has continued to grow the scholarship. Peggy also encouraged and supported her grandchildren with their higher education.  She was a sports fan, particularly in following NDSU Football and the Minnesota Twins.

Peggy died on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Landmark of Fridley in Fridley, Minnesota.  She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (James) Dozier of Palmetto, GA, Rebecca (Ernest) Que of Ham Lake, MN, Mary Koziol (fiancé Joe Hellermann) of Melrose, MN, and Elizabeth (Timothy) Fritz of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren Megan and Emily Dozier; David (Emma) Que, Marina, Isabella, and Elena Que; Hannah and Olivia Koziol; Joseph and Matthew Fritz; great grand-daughter Ruby Jane Que.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Red, and siblings Mary Johnson, Dorothy Gwinn, John Ford, Lois Dargan, and Barbara Kiefer.
