Margaret Adeline (Herring) Locy was born on November 18, 1928, in Burbank, SD, to William and Margaret (Reynolds) Herring. She grew up and attended school in Redwood Falls. On September 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Julius âJukesâ Locy at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. The couple farmed near Minneota for four years before moving to Marshall. Margaret worked for most of her career as a plate maker in the camera department at Henle Printing. She enjoyed her family. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, flower gardening, fishing, playing cards, was an avid Minnesota sports fan and never missed an episode of Days of our Lives.
Margaret died on Thursday, June 26, 2015, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her children David (and Kay) Locy of Overland, KS, Barbara (and David) Anderson of Spencer, IA, Dona (and Terry) Rockstad of Bismarck, ND, Sherry (and Dennis) Kern of Porter, Rose (and Ralph) Hale of Marshall, Theresa Locy of Marshall, grandchildren Scott Locy, Jamison Anderson, Heidi Schultz, Eve Schreck, Amy Otto, Bradley Kern, Marissa Goplen, Joel Kern, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Margaret Kinney and Leona Locy, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine siblings and son-in-law Gary Otto.
Memorials preferred to Morningside Heights Adult Daycare and the American Cancer Society.
