Lyle Herbert Huso

Lyle Herbert Huso was born on October 25, 1939, in Vallers Township at the farm home of his parents where he lived and worked most of his life. His parents are Thorbjorn and Mildred (Olson) Huso, now both deceased. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the faith at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Lyle was married to Glenyce Bahn on February 1, 1959, at English Lutheran Church. They have two children: Michelle Aleen (known mostly as Shellie) and Lon Alan. They were married for 36 years and divorced in January, 1995. Lyle married Rose Williams on February 24, 1996. Rose died on May 31, 2014. Lyle attended his first two grades at country school and then began school at Cottonwood Public Schools and he graduated from high school in 1957. He attended St. Olaf College for one year and then began his farming career from which he retired following the harvest of 2015. Lyle served as trustee at English Lutheran Church for many years and also served as an usher. Lyle was a quiet person who preferred to listen and observe rather than to take part. He always mulled his statements over in his mind before he expressed anything verbally. Lyle died on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at his residence in Cottonwood, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Hoff and her children Sarah Hoff (Patrick Cuddy), Janelle Hoff, Benjamin (Samantha Schliep) Hoff, Taylor (Amy Schliep) Hoff and Tanner (Stephanie) Hoff. Also survived by his son Lon and Karen Huso and their children Lee (Gina)Huso, Lane (Naomi Greenblat) Huso, Kayla (Matt) Barland and Kevin (Amanda Ganner) Crawford. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren: Isaac Cuddy, Wyatt and Eli Hoff, Genevieve (aka Evie) Hoff and Shay Huso, Also surviving are Rose’s children Gary (Jolynn) Johns, Deb Thorpe, Bradley (Tricia) Johns, Kelly Johns, and LoAnn (Tim) Dale. Siblings surviving are Thomas (Erma) Huso and Alton (Carol) Huso. He is also survived by his children’s mother, Glenyce (Clarence) Possail. Lyle leaves many other in-laws, friends and relatives behind. Lyle has grown weary from his many treatments for cancer and by God’s grace he is able to join his loved ones in heaven.
