Louis Leon Gawarecki was born on October 31, 1946, in Hendricks,MN, to Leo and Leona (Przymus) Gawarecki. He was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. He graduated from Balaton High School in 1966. On June 21, 1971, he was united in marriage to Julie Van Nevel at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. The couple had two children: Christa and Craig. Louie worked for Southwest Sanitation and retired in 2012 after 40 eyars of service. He enjoyed playing cards, watching football, especially the Vikings, car racing and going to car shows. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Third Degree and Sons of the American Legion. Louie died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his residence in Marshall. He is survived by his children Christa Peterson and Craig Gawarecki, sister Kathy Ankrum, brothers Joe Gawarecki and Roy Gawarecki, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
