Linda Louise Van Overbeke was born on July 3, 1956, in Marshall, the welcome first girl after three boys born to Vincent and Lucella (Thompson) Van Overbeke. Linda attended public school in Minneota, graduating from Minneota High School in 1974. She later attended St. Paul Technical College. After high school, Linda moved to Marshall and worked for a number of years at BH Electronics. In her free time, Linda enjoyed painting, reading, cooking, and watching birds. She also could be found staying updated on current events and watching PBS documentaries. Linda spent a lot of time with her special friend, Dennis Tollefson. They enjoyed gardening, going out to eat, and watching movies together. Linda faced hardships in her life, but she was always fiercely independent. She liked getting together with friends, especially her breast cancer support group and local NAMI programs.

Linda died on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at her residence in Marshall. She is survived by her mother Lucella of Marshall; siblings Craig of Marshall, Keith of Marshall, Susan of Marshall, Valerie (Jeff) Annen of Cook, Barbara (Tom) Spanier of Rogers, Lois (Steve) Dellwo of Shakopee, Cyndy of Otsego, Mark (Cathy) of Minneota, Scott (Nikki) of Le Center, Steve of Forest Lake; 11 nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and nephews; companion Dennis Tollefson; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Vincent, brother Bryan, and sister-in-law Jane.
