Linda Marie (Lawson) De Vos was born on January 15, 1955, in Marshall, to George and Marjorie (Etrheim) Lawson. She was baptized, received her First Holy Communion and was confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1973. Linda attended and graduated from Willmar Vocational Technical School with a Cosmetology license. She then took a job at the Swift Turkey Plant where she worked for 13 years. On December 2, 1978, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene De Vos at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. To this union they had three children: Lacey, Travis & Matthew. The couple made their home and raised their family in Taunton. Linda was very social. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family at her kitchen table or over the telephone. She was an excellent cook, loved to play cards and shop. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. But, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, brought her the most joy and happiness.
Linda died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene De Vos of Taunton, daughter Lacey (and Jake) Larsen of Marshall, grandchildren Carrington, Ella, Maddox, Beckett, and Lleyton, son Travis De Vos (fiancé Liz Bunjer) of Tyler, grandchildren Ashlyn, Briley, Camber and Dayton, son Matthew De Vos (and Stephanie Hennen) of Minneota, and granddaughter Kaitlynn, a very special cousin Tammy Schoep of Montevideo, all her other cousins, nieces and nephews and many relatives from her husbandâs family and her faithful companion Shadow.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Glenda Lawson, infant sister Mary Jane Lawson and Nancy Koch.
