Kathleen Ann Thooft was born on April 15, 1950 in Tyler, Minnesota to Henry (Hank) and Lia (VandenBroecke) Thooft. Kathleen attended Special Education Classes at Tyler Public School until 1971. In 1974, Kathy moved to Marshall and became part of the REM family. She worked at the DAC Redwood Falls and then with Service Enterprises of Marshall. Kathyâs favorite thing in life was celebrating with family and friends, especially holidays, her birthday and Christmas. She loved her scheduled TV watching, bowling, playing Bingo, and Monopoly.
Kathy peacefully left her earthly home on Sunday, October 3 and joined her parents, brother, Richard, and stepmother, Peg Thooft in their Heavenly home. She is now in a place where she is free of earthly limitations and the same as everyone else.
These past few years have missed her sparkle and hug when seeing someone she knew. She was Godâs special gift to us, and she will rest in our hearts forever.
Kathy is lovingly remembered by her sisters and their families: Rosemary (Larry) Demuth of Lynd; Linda (Dennis) Javens of Mankato; and Elise (Dan) Lanoue of Tracy; special brother Dale (Beth) Adamson of Hartford, SD; nine nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews; her extended REM family, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Blessed be the memory of Kathy Thooft.
