Kathleen Louise (Polfliet) Gawarecki was born on May 25, 1943, in Marshall, to Cyriel and Anna (Vandendries) Polfliet. She grew up and attended school in Ghent. Kathleen was united in marriage to Larry Haag. To this union were born Cindy, Larry, and Rodney. After Larry’s death, she was later united in marriage to LeRoy Vogt. To this union were born Randy, Mike and Loren. Kathleen was later married to Louie Gawarecki. In addition to raising her children, Kathleen worked at the Marshall Hospital and later for Prairie 5 in Redwood Falls. She enjoyed cooking, baking and going to car races. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She was also a country and Christian music fan. Her favorite song was “You are my Sunshine.” After living most of her life in Ghent, she lived in assisted living in Madison and Minneota.
