Karen Hoekstra

Lynd – Karen Sue Hoekstra 1959 – 2018 A Celebration of Life will be held for Karen Sue Hoekstra at a later date. Karen was born in Pipestone to Albert and Ellen Hubers. She grew up in a very large family in rural Pipestone. She moved to Marshall and attended Granite Falls Vo Tech and SSU for accounting. She started working at Runnings and just never left. Karen was united with John Hoekstra and they had four children, Matt (Annie) of Lynd, Nick (Casi) of Marshall, Lucas of Lynd and Chelsey of St. Cloud. Grandchildren, Alex, Caleb and Liam. She is also survived by 5 sisters and 4 brothers, and John’s loving family. Enjoyments in life for Karen were bicycling, having completed the MS Ride Across Minnesota in July 2016 and many trail rides with family. She also enjoyed playing pool and spending time with her pool buddies. Karen died of brain cancer on July 13, 2018. Gone home but not away. Alive in our hearts every day.
