Jerry Hinz, 71, of Tracy, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy with visitation starting at 11:00 am and continuing until the time of service. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery, rural Garvin with lunch to follow at This Ol’ Place in Garvin. Online Condolences may be placed at www.almlie-horvath.com. The Almlie-Horvath Funeral Service of Tracy is caring for the family. Jerry Hinz was born on December 3, 1943 to Glen and Esther (Fallert) Hinz in Marshall, Minnesota. He grew up in Amiret, was baptized and confirmed at the Amiret Methodist Church, attended Amiret Elementary School and Graduated from Tracy High School in 1961. After High School, Jerry attended the Minnesota School of Business for computers and went to Aviation School where he received many different certifications in aviation. Jerry was united in marriage to Ruby Johnson at Tracy Lutheran Church and together they had two daughters, Barbara and Brenda. They lived together in Amiret, Garvin, Twin Cities, and LaCrosse, Wisconsin. On May 14, 1999, Jerry married LuAnn Anderson at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. They made their home in Tracy. Jerry worked as a pilot and other various jobs in the aviation field. He also drove truck for Veissman Trucking for 14 years. Jerry was a member of the Roaring Lyons Motorcycle Club in Amiret and enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards, flying, hunting, watching the Twins and Vikings, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Prarie View Senior Living in Tracy at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife LuAnn (Anderson) Hinz of Tracy; two daughters Barbara (Ralph) Orcutt of Milaca, and Brenda (Brian) Mlsna of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren Jeremiah, Ryan, Cameron, Cortney, and Cara; seven great grandchildren Autumn, Abraham, Nadia, Caden, Kyla, Evelyn, and Alice; one brother Dennis (Madeline) Hinz of Amiret; and a niece Kelli (Craig) Lange and cousins. He is preceded in death by his first wife Ruby, and his parents. Blessed be his memory.
