Jerome Francis Naber was born on November 14, 1919, in Milford, IA, to John and Clara (Long) Naber. At a young age, Jerome moved with his family to Northern Minnesota and later to the Marshall area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On October 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Merlevede at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. The couple farmed South of Marshall until retirement in 1984. In 1998, they moved into Marshall. Jerome loved all types of dancing, including ballroom dancing and square dancing. The couple belonged to âChicks and Slicksâ square dancing club. Jerome also enjoyed fishing and watching baseball and football. He was a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 113 of Marshall. Jerome died on Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Minneota, daughters Rosalie Parrish of Melcher, IA, and AnneMarie Schwartz of Coon Rapids, grandchildren Chad and Craig Renneke of Marshall, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by infant son, Jerome Jr., five brothers and one sister.
