Jeannette (Jeannie) Marion Drown

Jeannette Marion “Jeannie” Drown was born on August 18, 1939, on the family farm in Westerheim Township to Louis and Blanche (Rogge) Brewers. She graduated from Minneota High School in 1957. Jeannie was united in marriage to David Drown. To this union were born three children: Pamela, Patrick and Gregory. Jeannie worked for most of her career in retail. She worked for over 20 years at JC Penny’s and for over 20 years at Walmart. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed the outdoors, going on walks, gathering with friends and family, and taking very good care of her lawn and flowers. Jeannie was most passionate about her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a longtime active member of the Open Door Assembly Church and was a passionate advocate of her faith to her children, family and friends. Jeannie died suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, Feb 22, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by her children Pamela (and Kevin) Larson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Patrick Drown of Shakopee, Gregory Drown of Lakeville, grandson Daniel (and Monica) Larson, great-grandson Hawken, granddaughter Kayla Jean Larson and granddaughter Abigail Drown, siblings Robert (and Barbara) Brewers of Marshall, Wally (and Georgia) Brewers of Marshall, Daniel (and Lu) Brewers of Tracy, Veronica (and Daryl) Miller of Marshall, Celie Alder of Billings, MT, Marilyn (and Dan) Gregoire of Marshall, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May memories comfort you and your faith sustain you during this difficult and painful time of the loss of your dear Mom. I know how close you were and how special she was to you. Seek God in all things and know that nothing can come between the precious moments you shared as Mother and son. She is at peace now in God's kingdom. Thinking of you during this time and praying for you, sending strength, healing and wishes for God's incredible hands to carry you through. God bless.

To Jeannie's Family, I was so very sorry to hear of her passing. We have been friends for 35+ yrs and she was always so good to us! I met her when I was in college at SSU and worked with her at Penneys. She taught me how to make some of her wonderful recipes and she cut cake for us at our wedding. Over the last few years I didn't see her often but when I did she always had a smile and we shared fond memories. I loved her very much. I know she is now rejoicing with our Savior and for that we can't be sad. My prayers are for all of her family and friends that will miss her until the day we meet again. May she rest peacefully in Gods arms.
