James Leo Ormberg

A Celebration of Life for James “J.O.” Ormberg, 70, of Marshall, will be held September 23, 2023 at Fuzzy’s Marshall MN 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

James Leo “J.O.” Ormberg was born on December 9, 1952, in Marshall, to Conrad and Elaine (Bruner) Ormberg. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1972, where he lettererd in football and track and field. He lived in Colorado for a time before returning to Marshall in 2006. J.O. worked in sales and did restaurant vent cleaning. He enjoyed fishing and canoeing in the boundary waters and in Colorado. J.O. enjoyed walking, and he loved all sports, especially Minnesota teams.

J.O. died unexpectedly at his residence in Marshall on Friday, July 14, 2023. He is survived by his daughters Carissa (James) Smith, Sadie (Nick) Saalfrank, and Danica (Anthony) Garrant; six grandchildren; siblings Ron (DeEtt) Ormberg, Bruce (Denise) Ormberg, Robert “Todd” (Jayne) Ormberg, and Sheri Schaeffer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Loved and missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
