Irene Allex

Irene Lorraine Allex was born on February 1, 1921 to Dwight and Lydia Gee in Stanley Township. She married Clem Allex on July 9, 1945 in Green Valley, MN. Clem died July 23, 1988. Irene was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and especially making cookies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Both freezers were always full of treats and her home was welcoming. She loved playing cards with many groups, enjoyed her farm club ladies and was happy volunteering at the hospital gift and thrift shops. Irene died on Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Minneota Manor Healthcare Center in Minneota. Irene is survived by sons Tom (Jeanne), Rick (Sara), and Don, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Sylvia Gee and Marie Allex. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Harold and Merlin Gee.
