Guelda Mae Williams

Visitation for Guelda Williams, 77 of Marshall will take place from 5:00 p.m. - 7: 00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall.  A graveside service will take place in London, Kentucky.

Guelda Mae (Allen) Williams was born on November 19, 1944, in London, KY, to Robert and Eva (Brantley) Allen.  She grew up and graduated from high school in London.  On January 18, 1963, she was united in marriage to Ernest Ball Jr. in Laurel County, KY.  The couple made their home in Morristown, TN.  From this marriage were born children Becky Ann, Laura Susan, Sonia Lynn and Robert Edward.  Guelda worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Barbourville, KY.  The couple later divorced.  Guelda and the children moved to Marshall, MN, in 1980.  Guelda worked for Sam and Phyllis Dering at Sam’s Place Bar for many years and they developed a strong friendship.  Guelda was a free spirit and a very social person, she enjoyed reading and was very interested in Native American culture.  Guelda was most passionate about time spent with her family and long talks on the phone with her sister in Kentucky.

After a brief illness, Guelda passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, surrounded by family at her residence in Marshall.  She is survived by her daughters Laura (and Tom) Buysse of Minneota and Sonia (and Dustin) Kesteloot. Sister Bobbi Jean Davenport of London, KY:  grandchildren Melissa (and Korey) Kesteloot, Heather (and Charles) Green, Matthew (and Kaley) Buysse, Haley (and Skyler) Carpenter, Ellen (and Jordan) Longtin and Abigail Kesteloot. Great-grandchildren Owen, Avery, Braelyn, Jameson, Wyatt, Emma, Gage, Kobe, Paisley, Sawyer, Atlee, Westen, Ryker, Maddox, Kaysen.  She was preceded in death by her son Robert, daughter Becky, parents Robert and Eva and brother-in-law Bill Davenport.
