Glen Patrick Appel

July 28, 1962 — February 25, 2022

Mass of Christian Burial for Glen Appel, 59, of Marshall, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent.  Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.  at Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, March 2, 2022 at the church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at St. Eloi Catholic Cemetery in Ghent. 

Glen Patrick Appel, the son of Leonard and Albertine (Rolph) Appel, was born on July 28, 1962, in Tyler, MN.  He grew up a farm with his 8 siblings near Ivanhoe.  Glen graduated from Ivanhoe High School in the class of 1980.  After high school, he attended Willmar Vocational Technical College for Agri Business.  Glen worked at ADM Corn Plant for many years and then at High Water Ethenal Plant in Lamberton as a boiler operator for the last 13 years.  

Glen met Monica Buysse in the summer of 1989 and on June 6, 1992, they were united in marriage at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent.  Together they lived in Marshall where they raised two children, Jamie and Brandon.  He was a great father who cherished every minute he spent with his children.  Glen liked to watch the MN Twins and Vikings.  He also liked fishing, hunting, and taking rides on his Harley with Monica.  

Glen was a loving, kind and extremely patient husband, father, son, brother and friend.  He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Glen P. Appel, died on Friday, February 25, 2022, at his home at the age of 59 years old.  He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Monica Appel of Marshall; daughter, Jamie Appel of Marshall; son, Brandon Appel of Marshall; mother, Albertine Appel of Ivanhoe; siblings, Linda (Craig) Carlson of Fargo, ND, Ken (Eileen) Appel of Moorhead, Patty (Fred) Schmitz of Duluth, Randy (Abby) Appel of Marshall, Bonnie (Roger) Lodermeier of Cannon Falls, Brenda (Steve) Fitterer of Cannon Falls, Amy Ross of Montrose, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Appel and his sister, Sharon Busselman.
