Mass of Christian Burial for Donald “Don” Wyffels, 86, of Marshall, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Remembrance Center. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Donald Duane Wyffels was born on September 17, 1939, in Marshall, MN, to Peter and Irma (Van Overbeke) Wyffels. He grew up on a farm across from the Lyon County Fairgrounds and near the Redwood River. Don attended school in Marshall until moving with his family to a farm near Cottonwood in 1952. Don graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1959. On April 21, 1960, he was united in marriage to Angie Bossuyt. The couple farmed and raised their family on the Wyffels family farm west of Cottonwood in Vallers Township. Don enjoyed farming, milking cows and continued to help the family farm after retirement. Although he was a quiet man, he enjoyed socializing. He enjoyed coffee with his friends in Cottonwood, at Mike’s Café and the Adult Community Center. He enjoyed playing cards and had a regularly scheduled weekly game with friends Joe, Ray and Jim until weeks prior to his death. Don and Angie enjoyed traveling including many bus tours and special trips to Alaska, Hawaii and the Netherlands. They also enjoyed square dancing and time spent with family, especially great-grandchildren. Don served on the Vallers Township Board. He was a lifelong member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where he received all of his sacraments and served on the Parish Council.

Don died on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Prairie Home Hospice McLaughlin House in Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Angie, of Marshall, children Deb (Steve) Gniffke of Cottonwood, Dean (Penny) Wyffels of Cottonwood, Darla Timmerman of Minneota, Dale (Joane) Wyffels of Horace, ND, Douglas (Kirsten) Wyffels of Mabel, ten grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother Dennis Wyffels of Mesquite, NV, many nieces, and nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Monsignor Robert Wyffels, Lawrence (Maxine) Wyffels, and Richard (LeeAnn) Wyffels, sister Mary Anne VanLerberghe, son-in-law Brian Timmerman and sister-in-law Carol Wyffels.
