July 4, 2015, Delores DeCock celebrated her true independence by passing on to her heavenly abode while residing at the Minneota Manor. She was 85 years old. She was born February 16, 1930 in Ghent, MN. Her parents were Philip and Evelyn Regnier who farmed north of Ghent. She married Walter DeCock on January 30, 1950 at St. Eloi Catholic Church. They farmed together near Ghent all their lives. She gave birth to five children who attended school in Ghent, Marshall Central Catholic High, and Minneota. Delores loved to cook, garden, and sew. She and Walt were avid square dancers and they attended their share of festivals. All of the children were active 4-H members and she was a club leader for the Grandview Willing Workers. She also sang in the church choir and was a member of the CCW (Council of Catholic Women). Times to relax were often filled with her cuddling up with a good book. She enjoyed participating in the County Extension Group, using the information for good health for her family. Delores was extremely devoted to her faith and family. Her career choice as a âProfessional Momâ benefitted and blessed all.
Delores is survived by two brothers Norbert and Jim Regnier, her children Francis (Erlene) DeCock of Rochert, MN; Anne (Ric) Welch of Louisville, CO; Lyle (Lola) DeCock of Ghent, MN; and Bernie (Julie) DeCock of Ghent,MN. She also has six grand children, Patrick (Kate) Linden, Nate (Ellie) DeCock, Austin (Tara) DeCock, Adam (Jodi) DeCock, Jonathan Proskey, and Sister Mary Catherine (Sarah DeCock). Ten great grand children round out the fold.
Preceding Delores in death were her husband Walter DeCock, her son Paul DeCock, her sister Eileen Culshaw, and two of her brothers Jerry and Elroy Regnier.
