The funeral service for Deanna Lange, 81, of Marshall, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the remembrance center and will continue on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place at the Russell Cemetery in Russell, MN. 

Deanna Lue (Peterson) Lange was born on December 22, 1940, in Tyler, MN, the oldest of nine children born to Percy and Luella (Kindler) Peterson.  She grew up and attended school in Russell.  Deanna worked for a short time with her mother at the café in Russell.  On August 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Richard Lange at the Presbyterian Church in Russell.  Deanna had many talents including painting and ceramics.  She was an excellent baker and will be remembered especially for her banana bread and homemade pizza. Deanna enjoyed camping and fishing.  She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for whom she was always ready with a treat.  She was a very kind and thoughtful person.

After a brief illness, Deanna died on Monday, September 5, 2022, under the care of hospice at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, MN.  She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Marshall, children Sandy (and Neil) Nath of Marshall and Jim (and Cindy) Lange of Faribault: grandchildren Debbie (Josh) Juergensen of Rogers, MN, Stephanie (Mike) Goblish of Marshall, Brittany (Matt) Skuya of Marshall, Blake (Sara) Nath of Marshall, Austin (Kari) Nath of Aberdeen, SD, Danielle (Colby) Post of Ivanhoe, John Lange of Marshall, Jenna (Dustin) Bonn of Sioux Falls, SD and Katelyn Lange of Sioux Falls, SD; step-grandchildren Michael Hoeben, Nick Hoeben and Sam Schultz; great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Brady, Jack, Sophia, Abby, John, Kyrie, Aubrey, Beckett, Max, Camdon, Cohen, Colton, Tucker, Brooks, Sailor, Aveigha and Dane; step-great grandchildren Eliza, Kyler, Wyatt, Lilah and Braxtyn; siblings Darlene Plantz of Brewster, Vicky (Tom) Greve of Marshall, Gene Peterson of Missouri, Karen (Ardy) Eilers of Canby, Randy (Karen) Peterson of Iona, Becky (Bill) Perry of Florida, Bonnie (Jerry) Christianson of Canby, Clayton (Raquel) Peterson of Marshall and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Luella Peterson and in-laws John and Retha Lange, son John, brothers-in-law Les Lange and Rodney Plantz and sister-in-law Janice Lange.
