Dean Francis Wimmergren was born on July 3, 1939, in Minneapolis to Aben and Genevieve Wimmergren. He grew up and graduated from high school in the Twin Cities. Dean enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked in sales for a variety of employers. For his last 25 years, he was a Sales Manager for Old Dutch. On May 15, 2004, he was united in marriage to Susan Fuller. The couple lived in a variety of communities, most recently in Tyler, MN. Dean enjoyed fishing, gold mining, wood working and antiques. He was most passionate about his family and greatly enjoyed large family gatherings. He will be fondly remembered for his blizzards, baked beans and barbeque skills.
Dean died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Tyler, children Mark (and Mary) Wimmergren, Bill (and Nyra) Wimmergren, daughter-in-law Eileen Wimmergren, Jen Wimmergren (and Steve,) Christy (and Dave) Lundberg, Shannon (and Dan) Carrow, Russ (and Hope) Edwards, Travis (and Stephanie) Fuller,, 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother Jim (and Nancy) Wimmergren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Michael, son David, brother Dale, grandchildren Quinn, Dylan and Evan.
