Cyriel Camiel Vlaminck was born on February 16, 1924, to Peter and Ida (Sinave) Vlaminck in Grandview Township. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent. Cyriel attended school in District 24 of Nordland Township. Following his schooling, he worked on the farm. On June 18, 1946, Cyriel and Lorraine J. Bottelberghe were married at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. They farmed in Nordland Township Southwest of Minneota until 1976. The couple then moved to Minneota. Cyriel did some carpentry work and landscaping until he retired in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting pedal tractors and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cyriel died on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Minneota, children Mary (Jerome) Jerzak of Ivanhoe, Peter (Myrna) Vlaminck of Minneota, Audrey (Ron) Weverka of Hendricks, Diane (Larry) Anderson of Brookings, Jane (Jeff) Flood of Porter, Carol (Doug) Hoffman of Parkers Prairie, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brothers Gaston, Alouis, Lucien and John, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
