Cheryl always put her family first.  She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and decorating for the holidays.  She loved to have her grandkids and daycare kids around and going to all of their activities.  Cheryl loved taking care of all her daycare kids over the past 50 ½ years and when she wasn’t doing daycare, she worked at the Minneota Manor for 30 years on the weekends.  She had many wonderful memories with her family and daycare kids over the years doing the things they loved to do together.  She liked being outside and playing games, gardening, feeding the animals, driving tractors, camping and going on golf cart rides, stamping and scrapbooking all of the pictures she had taken over the years.

Cheryl died on Friday, December 15, 2023, under hospice care and surrounded by family at her residence in Cottonwood.  She is survived by her children Melissa (Scott) Gile of Cottonwood, Laurie (Tom) Rothery of Gilbert, AZ, Chad (Stacie) Nuese of Minneota, Kristie Nuese of Cottonwood; grandchildren Makenzie (Collin) Thompson, Logan Gile, Megan Gile, Noah Wilkens, Jaxon Rothery, Kamden Rothery, and step-grandchild Ty Baune; siblings Laurance (Margaret) Wakefield, Linda (Galen) Boerboom, Les (Linda) Wakefield, Dianne (George) Raymond, Rick (Lori) Wakefield, Nancy (Tim) Swanson; brother-in-law John (Linda) Nuese, Doug (Cindy) Nuese and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Richard and Lorraine Wakefield, parents-in-law Terrence and Shirley Nuese, and many family and friends that left before her.
