Charles Columbus

A service commemorating the life of Charles “Chuck” Columbus, 48, of Tracy, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the ceremony, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (private family viewing available at 12:00 noon on Saturday.) A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Charles Columbus Jr. was born on May 10, 1978, in Minneapolis, MN, to Charles (Sr.) and Mary (Wildey) Columbus. Charles was proud of his Ojibwa heritage and was an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa from the Lake Vermilion community. He lived in several communities including Glencoe, Hutchinson, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and, since 2009, Tracy, MN. He worked at various jobs including welding and construction for a few employers including Green Giant, Jonti-Craft and others.

Chuck was a strong man with a soft heart. He was a loving father and uncle and was very passionate about family. He was generous and his door was always open. He enjoyed drawing, fishing and other activities.

Chuck died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Marshall. He is survived by his children Shila Just of Arlington, Chayse Ramirez of Tracy, Arianna Columbus of Waconia, Treiton Schulz of Arlington, Brooklyn Columbus of Redwood Falls and River Ramirez of Tracy, grandchildren Everlee, Brynlee, Lyla and Lilia Anderson, ten siblings and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Wildey) Columbus and Charles Columbus Sr. and brothers Ricky Wildey and Steven Columbus.

He was loved by many and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
