Catherine L. Greenfield

Catherine Luella (Ford) Greenfield was born on March 1, 1928, in Marshall, MN, to Robert and Violet (Wixon) Ford. She grew up near Garvin and worked for a time at the Garvin Corner. There she met Norman Greenfield. The couple was married on December 14, 1946, in Marshall. They farmed and raised their family of nine children on a farm near Balaton. Catherine’s passion in life was her family. She was an excellent cook, and she was always concerned about her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed following their activities and always played an active part in their lives. Catherine died on Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. She is survived by her children Dianne (and Frank) Smith of Tracy, Norm (and Pam) Greenfield Jr. of Balaton, Gary Greenfield of Tracy, Doug Greenfield of Tracy, Tom (and Debra) Greenfield of Garvin, Donna Greenfield (and Ronn Morgan) of Tracy, Steve (and Barb) Greenfield of Montevideo, David (and Laura) Greenfield of Cottage Grove, and Lori (and Todd) Klosterbuer of Rock Rapids, IA; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters Rachel Breczinski of Marshall and Linda (and Ron) Stibbe of Balaton; sisters-in-law Jane Ford of Great Falls, MT and JoAnn Greenfield of Tracy; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Guestbook

Aunt Catherine was the best cook; she made such delicious cakes. She was kind and generous, taking care of other elderly relatives. This made a big impression on me when our family would come to visit her family on their farm. Debbie Banks
