Carole Ann Martin

August 1, 1942 — March 31, 2026

Omaha, NE

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce Carole Ann (Nuese) Martin.

Carole was born August 1, 1942 in Marshall, Minnesota, baptized and confirmed in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and attended Holy Redeemer School. She graduated from the College of Saint Catherine’s with a degree in Education and dedicated years to teaching English at the high school and university level (Southwest Minnesota State University), where she impacted countless students’ lives.

In 1968, Carole married Dr. Charles “Paul” Martin, and together they raised three children Tom, Jennifer and Amy in Marshall. An individual of strong faith, Carole was an active member of Holy Redeemer Church and several education boards.

Carole’s honest nature, kindness, warm spirit and gracious attitude made everyone around her feel loved. Her life was defined by her deep commitment to family, her Catholic faith and community. As a wife, she was a steadfast partner and source of strength. As a mother, she offered endless support, guidance, and unconditional love. Carole found immense joy in being a grandmother and was always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a comforting embrace, but was also ready to participate in any game or activity that was being played!

Carole had a passion for nature and the outdoors and was “happiest with grass under her feet”. She was an avid hiker, biker and cross-country skier. She was also regularly enjoyed all desserts and ice cream! Carole spent 20 years as an ice cream Taste Tester for Schwann’s Ice Cream.

She saw beauty in nature and flora, but was even more passionate about education. In her career as a high school English teacher, college English professor and a CCD teacher, she touched countless lives. Her patience, compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on her students and colleagues.

Those who knew Carole will remember her as kind, loving and deeply nurturing—a person who always thought of others first and made the world a better place through her caring and compassion.

Carole strongly believed in the mission that education improves lives.
