She attended country school, District 74, near Cottonwood and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1945. On November 8, 1949, Adeline was united in marriage to Lawrence Tholen at St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley, MN. They farmed east of Marshall for one year, then moved to a farm south of Wood Lake, MN. In 1960, Adeline and Lawrence began farming on a farm north of Tracy until their retirement in 1992.
